Professional Development for Mental Health Professionals in Radically Open DBT is provided in Australia through a collaboration between the Australian DBT Institute and Radically Open Ltd.

In 2024, Dr Sophie Rushbrook will be returning to deliver a range of engaging RO DBT Workshops including:

One-Day Introductory Training

Training Days and Locations

  1. Confirmed Date & Location: 11 April 2024, Sydney, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm

The aim of this workshop is to introduce clinicians to the theoretical foundations and new skills underlying Radically Open-Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) for disorders of overcontrol (Lynch, 2018). RO DBT is fully manualized and supported by three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for refractory depression, two open-trials targeting adult Anorexia Nervosa, and one non-randomized trial targeting treatment resistant overcontrolled adults.

Please note: this one-day training is not part of the therapist training pathway but is intended as a general introduction to help you decide whether you would like to pursue further training in RO DBT. In other words, this is not the same as Level 1.

  2. The RO Skills Instructor Pathway (12-13 October 2024): this is the slimmed-down level 3 option for those who only wish to lead or co-lead RO Skills classes but not individual treatment sessions. This option includes the first two training days; full attendance results in a certificate for 13.5 CE’s.
